Market Hall Museum

The headquarters of Warwickshire Museum Service is at the Market Hall, a 17th Century building in the centre of Warwick. Here you’ll find displays on the geology, natural history and early history of the county. Highlights include the Sheldon Tapestry Map of Warwickshire (seen at The British Museum’s summer exhibition), the second largest early Roman coin hoard in the country, our live observation bee hive and our famous (tweeting!) Giant Irish deer. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions and exciting events throughout the year.

The nearest public toilets are located in the Market Square and there are many lovely tea rooms within a very short distance of the museum. The museum houses a small shop which offers a range of gifts to suit all ages.

Visitor Information

We aim to provide a safe and healthy environment for visitors to Market Hall. You can help us by: observing all notices and signs during your visit, ensuring all children are properly supervised at all times, and by following any instructions or advice given by museum staff. The floors at Market Hall are uneven due to their historic nature so we would also ask you to wear appropriate footwear.

Wheelchair access to ground floor with assistance. Unfortunately we do not have a lift to the first floor galleries. BSL signing is available by arrangement for events.
