Cars through the Lens - Photography Workshop

Time: 10:30 - 16:30

Get to know your camera while taking pictures of your favourite cars. Suitable for beginners or as a refresher.

This day workshop will help you take the perfect photograph of your car. You will learn to effectively utilize the different settings on your camera so that you can create stunning car photographs. You will be taught how to control light and composition, learn the rule of thirds and perfect angles. By following simple photographic rules it will make your photography fun and exciting. Once you have gained these skills and knowledge, with motoring photographer Lara Platman, you will be able to continue to develop your photographical skills on your own!

Throughout the day Lara will guide you through a series of photographic briefs to help you advance your skills, from reflections and interiors to panoramic and detail. Lara will encourage you to capture images from many unusual angles in order to create a unique portfolio of photographs.

What to bring with you:


DSLR or Bridge Camera with a fully charged battery
Empty memory card
USB stick for photographs
Seat or kneeling pad.

Desirable but not essential:

Battery charger
Spare memory card

Please note lunch is not provided, however there is a café or you are welcome to bring your own packed lunch.

Explore a treasure trove of weird and wonderful objects from our past productions and discover the gory secrets of theatre-making. See up close the stunning costumes and fearsome weaponry created right here in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Get creative and hands-on with our interactive exhibits; step inside the mind of a Director, perform the part of Hamlet on the Royal Shakespeare Theatre stage in front of a virtual audience, and embrace your competitive streak with our quick change challenge.

Focusing the spotlight on the creativity behind-the-scenes, there are plenty of activities to entertain the whole family.

Open daily from 10.20am.

Annual Pass – pay once, visit as often as you wish for 12 months: £8.50 Adult, £4.25 child, £4.25 disabled people.
