Bramcote Station Open Day

Red Arrows Flyover, Fairground Rides, Military Bands, a Battle for Britain Spitfire Flyover and much, much more! Come checkout the Bramcote Station Open Day!

Bramcote Station Open Day is a community event that will be open to all members of the public in Nuneaton and surrounding areas with upwards of 6000 attendees. This is in order to raise funds for charities and to provide an opportunity for local charitable organisations to fund raise. This also raises the profile of 30th Signal Regiment within the local civilian community and provides an opportunity for armed forces recruitment.

Cost: £5 advance, £7 on the day. Family tickets available.

Within this exciting exhibition artist Stewart Francis Easton explores the creation and development of folkloric tale.

Beginning with a series of creation myths Easton maps the course of a folk tale from its inception in history, with its many branches, to the tale’s role in contemporary life.

Tudor Games
Open Day: Tudor Games!

Location: The Weaver's House 121 Upper Spon St, Coventry CV1 3BQ

Come along to this free Open Day and find out about the games the Tudors played including skittles, Nine Men’s Morris and quoits.

The Weaver’s House has been restored to show how it would have looked in 1540.

Experience how John Croke, a Coventry narrow-loom weaver and his family would have lived and worked. You can also see a full-size replica of the loom he would have used. Explore the working medieval garden showing the plants that would have been grown for food, flavouring, medicine and household use.
The house is very close to the city centre and therefore other local places of interest. Tea, coffee and homemade cakes are served on open days. Please note the solar room containing the loom is accessed by ladder.

Uncover the hidden people and events that shaped Leamington Spa and the world as we know it. Join us as we share our favourite stories and show you OUR Leamington – from the first entrepreneurs, to scheming emperors, royal visits, revolutionary inventors and much much more!

Our tours are in small groups and are perfect for visitors and locals alike.

Sample itinerary:
- Our Essential tour lasts for around 90 minutes. We will walk between 3-4km covering the town centre and surrounding area.
- Our tours include a local guide who will lead the way and share their favourite stories of Leamington and its famous residents. No food or drink is included as part of the tour.
- Our tour starts in the late 1700s before the dawn of the famous Spa era. As we make our way through the town we explore how the town became famous, how it grew and how it became the town we know today. We’ll learn about famous residents throughout the Georgian, Victorian and Windsor eras – from royalty, to doctors, poets, inventors, war heros, circus performers to name a few! We’ll dip our toes into the hidden history of Leamington by exploring the landmarks, architecture, and the personal stories of the people who shaped the town and world we know today.
- Our tours depart from the centre of Leamington Spa. We meet outside the front door of the All Saint’s Church. Advance bookings only.
