Introduction to foraging walk the oak
Introduction to Foraging Walk

Date: 28 April 2018

Location: The Oak Inn Coventry Road, Baginton, Coventry, CV8 3AU

Time: 12:00 - 15:00

Learn about the array of edible plants and fungi growing all around us in the UK in springtime in the historic village of Baginton, near Coventry, Warwickshire.

On this walk, you'll discover how to identify some commonly growing foods to forage for, and hints on where to look.

When we meet up, we will go through the basics of foraging before heading out over a range of habitats, including access to a special venue land we have been granted permission to explore.

Due to the nature of this special place, children attending must be 12 years old or over to attend and, unfortunately, dogs are not allowed.

During the walk, your forager will introduce you to a number of edible species, giving you tips on harvesting and correct identification. While doing this, you will have the opportunity to taste a range of pre-made wild food tasters and preserves.

Every day

Location: Belgrade Theatre Belgrade Square Corporation St Coventry CV1 1GS

“Ask me, just ask me! Pucho zara pucho! It’s punishment for falling in love!”

Kamala wants her daughter Rani to marry successful but emotionally awkward businessman Raj. Rani bristles at going down the conventional route and arranges a test for Raj. She convinces her cousin Sita to swap places and pretend to be the suitable bride – unaware that Raj has come up with the same scheme with his driver, Nitin!

Actor Nigel Planer (The Young Ones, Filthy Rich and Catflap) brilliantly updates Marivaux’s classic French farce to a modern Asian family in England, employing Bollywood song and dance to delicious effect as class and passion clash when Rani meets Raj.

Time: 19:00 - 22:00

A Great musical evening to be enjoyed by all. Bar & Raffle.

Exceptionally versatile, with a repertoire of three hundred years of music from around the world which they turn upside down and infuse humour, energy, passion and pathos. It's a mix of Vivaldi, French café music, Argentinean tangos, Irish Laments and polkas from Finland and their name comes from the fact that they have a real sense of occasion, creating a party atmosphere wherever they play. They really have fun in their concerts with virtuoso performances, zany and offbeat (but never off-putting) humour. The six musicians are led by Arne Richards who has a lovely way of getting audience involved during a performance. It’s the kind of show where it’s not unknown for a few couples to get up and dance! It’s an exciting and approachable musical evening that brings listeners young and old a lot of pleasure, perhaps jogging memories and certainly inspiring you to go out and listen some more. Ideal for an audience of all ages. Tickets £10—Reserve now!

Cost: £10
