More top names have been added to the star-studded line-up for BBC Music’s Biggest Weekend in Coventry.

After Liam Gallagher was yesterday revealed as the headline act for the first day – hosted by Radio 2 - he was today joined on the bill by Stereophonics.

Strictly Come Dancing with the BBC Concert Orchestra and Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter Angelique Kidjo have also been announced for the Monday, being hosted by Radio 3.

They join a host of star acts already named for the two day festival being held in the War Memorial Park, including Tears for Fears, Paloma Faith, Billy Ocean, UB40 featuring Ali, Astro & Mickey, Snow Patrol, Nigel Kennedy, Jamie Cullum, Go Go Penguin, Milos and Eliza Carthy & The Wayward Band.

The Biggest Weekend is taking place in Coventry on Sunday 27 and Monday 28 May as part of a massive festival of music spread across four sites, in four nations, over four days.

The event will be broadcast on BBC TV, radio, online and mobile across the entire weekend. Tickets are still available for the Monday, but Sunday is sold out.

It is part of a fantastic summer of music in Coventry, with the Godiva Festival at the War Memorial Park later in the summer and big name acts lined up for the Ricoh Arena.

Councillor Abdul Khan, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member Responsible for Events, said: “Even more fantastic acts have been added to Coventry’s line-up for BBC Music’s Biggest Weekend.

“It’s going to be an exciting Bank Holiday for Coventry and all those visiting the city over the weekend. It all adds up to a brilliant start to the city’s summer of music.”
