1) Caludon Castle Park

Caludon Castle Park is a hidden gem nestled Coventry. The park is a special place as it houses Coventry's only castle remains, that of Caludon Castle set in a beautiful park land. The park is a great place to relax and enjoy the open space as well walk around a 14th century ruin and historic site. Caludon Castle is one of only 20 Ancient Scheduled Monuments in Coventry.

2) Arbury Hall

Arbury Hall has been the seat of the Newdigate family for over 400 years now and is the ancestral home of Viscount and Viscountess Daventry. The beautiful Elizabethan house was built on the site of a 12th century Augustinian Priory. It was transformed in the 18th century to become the finest example of Gothic Revival architecture in the country.

Arbury Gardens cover approximately 20 acres. Some of this, especially in the vicinity of the Hall, is easily accessible in a wheelchair, but some of the gardens are only passable on foot and there are steep uneven slopes. Ground conditions can also determine access - grass may become soft in wet weather. The ground floor of the Hall is accessible to wheelchair users by the use of ramps. The Gallery on the first floor is not accessible to wheelchair users.

3) Brandon Marsh Nature Centre

Brandon Marsh Nature Centre is the headquarters of the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust. Set in 220 acres, the Reserve, consists of large pools created by gravel extraction. The Visitor Centre is a great place to visit including a Tea Room and well stocked gift shop. Around the Centre you’ll find the orchard, mouse maze, mini-beast homes, bird watching hides, recycled garden and a newly designed sensory garden (link to sensory garden project page) as well as an under-cover picnic area. Then it's off to the Onyx Nature Trail which guides you around the wildlife habitats of the nature reserve.

4) Burton Dassett Hills Country Park

Opened as a country park in 1971, the 100 acres contain a wealth of historical interest. At the site is a 12th century church, with a holy well which still provides water. Amazing views are visible from the hills, towns and other features that are viewable are described by a toposcope.

6) Draycote Water and Country Park

Draycote Water offers water sports, fishing, wetlands, nature trails and bird hides. 15) Ryton Pools Country Park

The 100 acres of Ryton Pools Country Park are just waiting to be explored. The many different habitats are home to a wide range of birds and other wildlife. The excellent surfaced paths enable easy walking around the site, and provide access to an adjoining ancient woodland, Ryton Wood (by agreement with the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust).

Come and have a picnic in the peace and quiet of the park, or enjoy refreshments at the Visitor Centre. We have a walks and events programme offering activities throughout the year to suit all age groups and interests. The Visitor Centre is located next to the main car park and is open every day except Christmas Day. A selection of gifts, walking and cycling leaflets, books and toys can be found in the gift shop.

Our helpful staff can also give you information about Ryton Pools and other country parks in Warwickshire. The Centre has disabled access, and two mobility scooters are available for a small charge.
